Journal Cover

Research shows that you are four times more likely to complete your to do list if you write it in a notebook with a pretty cover.  Ha - I totally made that up but I'm hoping that is the case.

My first project of the year is this cute journal cover.  I absolutely love it.  And what's not to love - it's super cute, it was a quick sew, and I made it using materials I already had.

I made it by following this wonderful tutorial from Bloom and Blossom.  I did have to make some adjustments to the measurements because my notebook was 7"x5".  {Instructions were for 8.25"x6.25" notebook.}

If you have the same size notebook as me and want to make one, here are my measurement substitutions:

Patchwork strip lenght 7.75"
Interfacing rectangle - 17.5" x 7.25"
Place the patchwork strip 3" from center
Small rectangle = 4.75" x 7.75"
Large rectangle = 12.5" x 7.75"
Turn the short ends in 3"
Lining 8.25" x 7.75"

Have a great week.  Stay warm!

{Not So Confidential} - December in Review

Hello 2014, goodbye 2013.  And goodbye to these monthly review posts.  Yes, you read that correctly.  This will be my last {Not So Confidential} post.  It's been fun but time to do other things.  {like making snow angels.}

Don't worry, I will still share my projects with you on this blog.  And I'm going to start a page to list the books I've read because I have found it kind of nice to keep track of what and how many I've read.  But for now, let's take one last look back at December.
